Burgers
Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. I love the burgers, my husband and I like to bring our family and friends here when they come to visit. Customer Service here could definetely be better. I've been here many times, and it's usually a hit or miss on terms of service. Our last visit was a definite miss. We walked in with two guys leaned up against the counter with their phones. They looked up at us when we walked in but went back to their phones. I said hello to them so it wouldn't be awkward. They really didn't pay any attention to us until we went up to the counter to order. We didn't feel welcome but at least the food was great. I think that's the only reason it brings us back here but there's usually a reluctance because of the service.

This a go-to place for lunch in our family because there's something for everyone. Our kids love the chicken fingers (they get apples for their side), and it's such a big order we usually have leftovers to take home. My wife and I usually get burgers (she likes the mushroom bacon and I like the steakhouse). But, today we both ordered salads (Cobb and Asian) and I'd never noticed you can choose any protein to add to your salad at no additional charge. Friendly, family atmosphere at this place. Often times you can find Tony behind the counter, or even clearing tables when things get busy during lunch time. Highly recommended.

Great burgers - tons of choices. I like the standard burger, pretzel bun, provolone cheese, stout mustard, lettuce, roasted red peppers & grilled pineapple (yes!). Fries are great too. Service is quick too. Definitely a step up from the average burger place.

Flat-out the best burgers you can get in the Creve Coeur area, and a locally-owned operation as well. The menu options are broad, but I have only had burgers and fries here. My burgers have always been cooked exactly the way I ask (medium-rare), with just the right amount of toppings, and presented picture-perfect. Seriously, the burgers even LOOK good. Dave & Tony's has a build-your-own option, but you could easily spend a half-hour trying to tweak you masterpiece. My suggestion: choose one of their Signature Sandwiches, have them add jalapenos, and you're ready to go. Definitely get the herbed garlic fries with cheese also. Get one order and share it, though - it is a LOT of fries. The staff has always been very pleasant, the layout is fine, and there is plenty of parking. Did I mention the herbed garlic fries with cheese? Yeah, get some of those.

Went for a random afternoon burger and it was very peaceful. The lady that took our order turned out to be Tony's wife and she was very helpful and nice. I had the Southwest turkey burger and my boyfriend had the simple burger with cheese. I really enjoyed the turkey burger, perfectly cooked and the salsa and cheese made it yummy and not to messy...oh and I loved the pumpernickel bun! The simple burger was that just simple, but I guess adding whatever additions you like is a bonus. The sharp cheddar cheese spread was a disappointment so maybe just sticking with regular cheese is a better idea. All in all great place and we would definitely go back for more burgers!

This is a great burger place. Its competitive to 5 guys but with more options. The more options the better when it comes to a burger. Based on taste alone, I give this 5 stars, but the service was good and they had the cardinal game on a nice TV in the dining room.

I came to Dave & Tony's a few weeks ago when I was in the area. It's not often that I venture out to Creve Coeur, so I thought I'd take advantage and check out a spot that I've been aching to try. Dave & Tony's was a good choice. I'm patting myself on the back right now. It's a fast-casual type of burger place, where you fill out a sheet detailing what you want on your burger. You pick the bun (I chose pretzel), the burger (beef, baby!), and the toppings (bacon + BBQ sauce + pepperjack cheese, please!). I also mentioned that I wanted my burger cooked medium. Oh, and I ordered a side of garlic parmesan fries. My food was delivered to me quickly, and I immediately cut my burger in half; partly for portion control reasons, but mostly to check to see if they cooked my burger medium. THEY DID. I squealed a little, because it's rare that a burger joint will cook my burger to my specifications (usually, it's cooked well-done. Blah!). Taste-wise, this burger delivered. Everything about it was perfect; the soft pretzel bun, the juicy burger, the flavorful bacon, the tangy BBQ sauce. I fell in love. The fries were also pretty amazing. The portion size is HUGE; it's definitely enough for 2 or more people. I didn't like that only the fries on the top were seasoned with garlic parmesan goodness, but now I'm just being picky. Service was friendly, and the place is spacious and clean. I believe my order came to less than $10, so I was a happy camper. Two thumbs up from this burger-lover! I'll be back.

I've been here a couple of times and although the build your own burger is great, I think there are much better burgers in STL. With the build your own, you can easily rack up a $6.50 burger to a $9 or $10 burger plus adding on fries for an additional cost.Their fries are just ok and always seem a bit more greasy than necessary. Speaking of grease, I literally was able to let the grease drip off of my burger tonight at dinner. It's just a big much. I do have to give credit to how attentive and friendly the staff is. If you live in the area, they have a free delivery service (I believe it's a 5 mile radius), which is pretty cool and rare for a restaurant in this food group.

Tried it for the first time yesterday after reading the RFT review. I ordered a basic burger and added cheese for $6.00, plus fries and a drink for another $3.25. I don't like a ton of toppings on a good burger, as I think it drowns out the flavor of the beef. Fast food needs fancy toppings, but not a quality hamburger. Anyway, I asked for my burger medium and only with cheese. I was there at 11:30 and noone else was in line, with only 2 other people eating. I barely had time to fill my drink and my burger and fries were already coming out. THIS is what shocked me and why I'm giving it a 2* review. My burger was obviously pre-cooked before I arrived. Something that I expect from Wendy's, not a "premium burger joint" charging $5.50 for plain hamburger (which seemed more like 1/3lb cooked) with no toppings or sides. The burger had no pink in it at all, and the meat was brittle and broke apart as I ate it (another sign that it had been half cooked ahead of time, set in a tray, and then finished off when I made stepped to the counter). I would far rather sit and wait 10-15 minutes to get a quality 1/2 burger that it cooked in front of me (open kitchen, not closed like this place where you can't see what they're doing back there). The only redeeming part of my visit were the fries, which were fresh and tasty and a decent value. If I'm going to over pay for a burger, I'd rather goto 5 guys (even though I think it's overpriced, at least it's cooked fresh) or hit up Hanifan's Better Burger or Christie's to get a quality burger at a fair price.

I have ordered from here so many times it is ridiculous. They deliver to my work so this is the go to place for a great salad or burger. (Oh yes the salads.) Food: VERY Good burger. You build your own with many many many toppings to choose from. My choice? Gouda cheese on my burger with Roasted Garlic Aiol. YUM! From mushrooms to fried eggs(SO Bad for you and quite good.. shh don't tell the diet fairy although I think she knows :/ ) Salad: I usually get the Cobb Salad. (Following in quotes from website) "COBB SALAD Mixed greens, gorgonzola blue, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, bacon, red onions, avocado and our balsamic vinaigrette dressing." I take a few items off to fit my needs and then you get to pick your protein, of which I choose the grilled chicken of 5 items to choose (Grilled Chicken, Chicken Tenders, Premium Steakburger, Turkey Burger, Veggie Burger.) 8 bucks is a great price for quality. Sides: Some people swear by the Herbed Garlic Fries but I LOVE the Onion rings, although they really just shards more then rings. I was never a fan of onion rings or onion fried of any sort but these are dangerously good. Be warned! (Greasy goodness) Dining In: Very casual dining experience. They have a big flatscreen television on the wall with simple tables and chairs. Simple but not folding chairs simple. There is a punchcard to get a free burger/salad after a set amount of times you have ordered from them. I really love this place. Tony delivers more than once to me and he is always fast, efficient, and friendly. TLDR: Great burger. Good salads. Onion rings(shards) are top notch! In Strip mall, the parking lot is down a little incline from Manchester so it is not visible from the road. It is in the same strip mall as Silky's Custard
(4)Joshua S.
Great place, great ingredients. Not cheap, but you are truly getting what you pay for. I had the pretzel bun which was awesome. Onion rings were just ok, fries were terrific.

This afternoon my friend invited me to the sneak peek of the new Premium Burger Joint called Dave & Tony's, named after David Miller and Anthony Dahl. This new venture is replacing the original Sammy Scott's which was an upscale sandwich shop. At Dave and Tony's they use only the finest ingredients and all of their beef is fresh - never frozen! Almost everything is made in-house, including their salad dressings and sauces, chicken tenders, onion rings and fries. They strive to be a high-quality, custom alternative to the ordinary burger place and are committed to giving you a better burger experience. They have numerous Signature Sandwiches - and I decided to go for the "Hawaiian BBQ Burger", which was a premium steakbuger topped with ham, grilled pineapples, caramelized onions, bbq sauce and sharp cheddar spread finished with a pretzel bun! A burger this good would make Homer Simpson drool just thinking about it! They also offer a "BUILD YOUR OWN" for only $6.50 to start - and they simplify it by steps! Step 1: Type - either sandwich or salad. Step 2: Protein - which can be a steakburger, chicken, turkey or veggie burger. Step 3: Bun - from standard, to pretzel, even Rye! Step 4: Cheese - I love the fact they offer Gorgonzola Blue and Mozzarella on top of the normal selections. Step 5 and 6: Toppings and Premium Toppings - once again they go above and beyond the norm by offering Crispy Wontons, Sprouts, Avocado, Baked Beans and even Guacamole! And last but not least Step 7: Sauces/Dressings - which can involve anything from Apple Jam, to Chipotle Ketchup to Pesto! Basically - this is a "Must Stop Shop" for any burger lover, or perhaps a person who has given up on finding their "Dream Burger", I guarantee it!

I found this place like I have most places recently, using yelp. Yet again another satisfied find. Since this was my first time here and I failed to do my homework (study the menu online before arriving) I went the conservative side with my order. I ordered the Extra Large Premium steak burger w/red onions, sharp cheddar spread, chipolte ranch and red onions on a regular bun. The burger was cooked perfectly medium rare and the bun was soaking up the juice of my burger. This is always a good sign in my opinion. Along with my burger I ordered a regular order of fries w/cheese. After reading the reviews I'm glad I did because they were hot and delicious, obviously cooked to order. Service was super fast. Maybe 7-10 minutes if that long after we ordered. The menu has several varieties of topping to choose from, I will definitely explore some on my next visit here along with trying the herbed garlic fries.
(5)Grace T.
Excellent place for burgers! Get a pretzel bun and be prepared to make several choices because the customizable combinations are nearly endless. Go hungry because they'll fill you up!
(5)O W.
Kinda not great kinda just ok. I've been here twice. Burger was not hot just warm. Fries were good. Place is really cold winter or summer. My kids froze both times. They need to be better! They just don't get it right.
(3)Walter K.
We had a coupon to eat here and I am glad we did. It was expensive for a 2 burgers,1/2 fries 1/2 onions (half and half side which is a good deal for the amount that you get) plus drinks. I have uploaded photos. Basically its a create your own burger joint, fill out the sheet of paper and give it to the guy and pay. A lot of options to choose from. My total order came to $23 without the coupon. I'd much rather go to the kitchen sink in the city. You get four things free on your burger such as onions pickles etc... Burger- 3.5/5. Pepper jack cheese, normal burger versus the "premium", pickles, onion, jalapeños (did not receive those but honest mistake) Onion rings- 2.5/5 very bland Edit: they do have some beer on tap there

Came here for lunch knowing nothing and not even checking Yelp first. Their signature burgers seemed limited to me. There was nothing I saw that made me interested in ordering, so I built my own. I can't say was was very creative myself. I did a standard bun, meat cooked medium, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos with peper jack cheese. I also ordered fries and a drink for a total of $11 which doesn't sound bad, but the burger at $6.99 alone seemed steep. We waited about 10 minutes for our food. It looked great at first glance. The fries were fresh cut type fries and were good, although they were not seasoned. The burger had nearly a whole head of iceberg lettuce, so after setting some aside for lettuce wraps, I inspected the burger further. It appeared dry and it was. For the first bite I didn't add any ketchup, but the lack of flavor and lack of juicyness begged for it. In general, there was no noticeable seasoning on the beef. Sometimes if cooked well and with high quality meat it is not necessary, but this had neither. There wasn't anything special about these burgers that I would go back for. You can go just about anywhere and get this quality of burger or lack thereof.

When you want a burger, you WANT a burger. Nothing else will satisfy. That craving was exactly what lead me to this place. More specifically, that was what lead me to do a Yelp search, read the review Tracey W (TW) wrote and decide that this had to be the place for a burger. Here's the low-down: Seven bucks for a burger that is extremely configurable. Loads of choices for what goes on the burger. Cooked to order and specified temperature. Mine was their standard size beef patty. It was probably a little over the advertised 1/3 pound. The meat itself was the star of the show...as well it should be. Some places that follow the same format miss the mark on the main ingredient. Fortunately, this is not one of those places. I love the taste of meat cooked over fire! I added the following to mine: sharp cheddar cheese spread, sauteed onions, onion rings, dill pickles and garlic aioli. It was perfection on a bun and exactly what I needed to satisfy my craving for a burger.
(4)Kweku A.
Very delicious moist very well made burgers. I had the turkey burger with garlic aioli sauce on a whole wheat bun. This place is definitely a gem in creve coeur.
(5)Emma F.
Build your own delicious burger. I recommend the pretzel bun! One of the best burgers I've ever had!
(5)Jeff G.
I was in the area and this place jumped out at me. Nice clean updated place with classic rock music in the background. The atmosphere fit the mood. The burger was your typical high end burger. Quality meat cooked the way you want it to. Mine was medium and they cooked it just as asked. Didnt have the fries. I hear they are great I will be back to try them in the future. The chili was very meaty. Great tasting. Overall a great burger joint.
(4)Andy K.
Solid burger joint. Good fries burgers and other pleasures. Not the best burger but worth returning again
(4)Eric C.
Great burger great price! Resturant was clean and help was polite. I had the premium steak burger with parmesan fries. Both very good. Setting had a little to be desired. Resturant sits in a strip mall but at those prices whose is complaining?
(4)Dennis S.
I've had a couple chances to stop in and try the burgers here at Dave & Tony's, and I have to say, yet another great burger joint in the St. Louis area! My wife has been talking about this place for a little while, having ordered a few times from her office just down the road. I finally had a chance to stop in a few months back, and again last week, and I can see why she was pushing me to try it. With a build your own burger approach, Dave & Tony's leaves the details up to you, which is awesome. All too often I walk into a place and find a bunch of burger choices which don't appeal to me. For instance, I hate mushrooms, and there have been some great burger options that get passed on due to the mushroom sauce, or some other ingredient that I really don't care for. With a build your own type of menu, I can enjoy the freedom of using any ingredients I want, without having to worry about that one thing I don't want! In addition to the great burgers, Dave & Tony's has some pretty tasty side items. My personal favorite so far is the chili cheese fries. This isn't your runny, canned chili heated in a micro wave and glopped onto your fries. It's a damned good tasting chili!
(4)Nicole C.
Dave and Tony's is our go-to burger and fries joint. We have a Five Guys down the road, but the build- your-own and extensive range of toppings makes this way more appealing for the same price point. The fries are delicious as well. I highly recommend the Hawaiian BBQ burger. The caramelized onions and pineapple are treat!
(5)Sandy M.
Went in for a quick lunch today before a movie and was pleasantly surprised with how fast the food was ready. I won't go into the details of the menu, since everyone else has it covered.. Just a few highlights! We both ordered from the build your own burger menu - The roasted peppers were awesome, give those a try! - The house may looked more like ranch dressing, but it was pretty good - especially with my fries. - Speaking of fries, I paid $2 for the herb and parmesan fries. First of all, I'd rather pay less and have a smaller option. Secondly, the parmesan is plunked on top of the fries so you get -5 cheese covered and the rest with no cheese. Disappointing. If you go with a friend, buy one order and share. My friend ordered the plain fries with cheese sauce. He described the sauce as "bland yet oddly addicting" and would get it again. - My friend also complained because of how the menu is phrased, i.e. "iceberg lettuce" and "carmelized onion" sound rather pretentious for an order at the counter burger joint. Overall, I paid $10 something for a burger, fries, and drink. That's kinda rich for my blood. It was good, but too pricey for lunch - and too much food, considering the portions!! PS, they do deliver now in a limited area with a $10 minimum.
(3)Don R.
That's right, I'm still a big advocate for this place. The burgers have not disappointed me yet, and it's great to see that their business has been steady (at least from when I've been there). My only problem are the onion rings. I wish they were thicker, and less a gigantic mass of onion peels stuffed in a box. Very salty. However, it's no reason to take a star away. I'll just get the fries. (But I know that the owners read these reviews, and I hope the onion rings are something they work on) Such an awesome burger.
(5)Stephanie O.
If you are in the Creve Coeur area, this is a place I would definitely try! You can either build your own salad, wrap, or sandwich or you can order one of their signature meals.. I'm a fan of building my own chicken sandwich with cheese, lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, and bacon. Always very good! My husband LOVES the Hawaiian Burger, so that might be worth a try also! Their fries are another staple, espceially the garlic cheese fries (don't get if you're trying to watch your sodium!) We usually have them deliver, which is always quick! However, the ambiance of the restaurant itself is very different from a burger joint. Instead of hard plastic chairs, they have soft, red vinyl booths and flat screen televisions. Everyone has been pretty friendly that I've done business with! All in all, a pretty good place to order from!
(4)Jon T.
Ms T and I stopped in on our way out of town for a road trip. She has decided that she likes a cheeseburger once in a while. Neither of us needed a 1/2 lb burger so we shared one. She does not abide rare beef so we had to order medium. I just want to warn people that you need to order these burgers medium rare. This time, done medium, was a disappointment. It was dry and I had to load my half with mayo to get it down. I have to knock off a star for this and the horrible turkey burger of about eight months ago. I will revisit the rating when I get back and re-order medium rare. It is critical that these thick format burgers be juicy. Cooking them at medium at D&T's apparently does not work. I won't make that mistake again because I really liked my earlier versions. If you read my first reviews but ordered medium or more done, you would have been disappointed as well.
(3)Stacy B.
Stumbled upon this place and based on other Yelp reviews, decided to try it. I ordered the Cobb salad with a steak burger and the herb garlic fries. The salad was huge. Fresh greens, nice sliced tomatoes, avocado, crispy bacon. The balsamic dressing was very good as well. The fries left something to be desired. First they were topped with a pile of mozzarella cheese. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that. Once I picked the cheese off, I found less than crispy fries lacking herb and garlic. I love a good garlic fry and these were disappointing. The restaurant was clean, the service was quick, and the option to build your own burger is great EXCEPT the constant up charges as you add toppings. I understand it with more expensive topping options, but not for lettuce, tomato and pickles. So price wise and soggy cheese covered fries, allotted it only 3 stars. If the fries had been better, it would have increased their star power!
(3)Jeremy C.
I saw this place on Yelp about 3 months ago and wanted to go try it. Finally after going to Mercy hospital for about the last 2 months I dropped in. I had the BYOB with fries and a soda. I loved that I could build my own burger and the extra expense of the Bacon didn't bother me because I have been plenty of places that charge extra for Bacon. The burgers are really thick and juicy and the pretzel bun was fantastic. All the toppings were incredibly fresh and made the burger great. The second time I went I got banana peppers on my burger and absolutely loved it! The fries are some of the best I have ever had and the onion rings are pretty incredible. I wouldn't really call them rings but it they are really great regardless. I brought my wife back here and we pretty much devoured them burgers. The service was excellent, the place was clean and the food came out pretty quick. I think for the money this place is better than 5 Guys.

Woah had this for a work meeting one day and decided to go there. the BEEF is amazing!! i had a wrap, my daughter had the pretzel and the Hubs had the Saint Louis Burger. they are HUGE and flavorful! definitely enjoyable!!! cant wait to go back! Nice Staff too!
(4)Jennifer C.
Visited here today for the first time. Really enjoyed the experience. You have the option to build your own burger or choose from a specialty selection. I opted for the St. Louis burger minus relish. The burger came with Thousand Island, Provel, Lettuce, Onion & Tomatoes. After ordering, the staff will bring your meal to the table. The tables are pre-set with utensils, no plastic. The toppings on the burger were super fresh and the thousand island dressing wasn't too heavy and was an ample amount for the sandwich. Can't say enough great things about fresh cut fries!
(4)Dan H.
I have always passed this place and never went in.. Glad I finally did!!! Burgers and fries were done of the best I've had in the area! Cooked exactly how we wanted.I will definitely be going back!
(4)Patt C.
It dubs itself a "Premium Burger Joint." I got a steakhouse burger ($6.95), herbed garlic fries ($1.95) and a beer ($2.75). I probably should have built my own burger, but it was entirely too confusing to make all the selections on my first visit. The burger was maybe 1/3 pound. I got it cooked medium-well, which is what they suggested, and it's still got pink in the middle. Iceberg lettuce, gorgonzola, tomato, "special" sauce (some mayo/ketchup mix) and onion straws. The bun was Dave's special bun, a caraway seed bun, almost tasting like pumpernickle. You order at the counter, they give you a number. You take a seat, and they bring your food when it's ready. I was there early, and there was just one other person in the place besides the employees. In the dining area, there are booths, tables and high-tops. I sat at a high-top. Probably too close to the door, because I was freezing the whole time. There was music in the background, and a television on mute. The fries were a huge order with mozzarella sprinkled on top. It was just starting to melt, so only the fries on the top got the cheese. They were tasty. I cut the burger in half and still had to squash it to fit into my mouth. It was a kinda sloppy bite. I ate half the burger and half the fries, so had another meal for the next day. There's also a punch card. Buy seven entrees, and the eighth is free. The restaurant is in the Bellerive Shopping Center just a little west of Olive and Mason, right next to Schnuck's.

Every time I review a West County restaurant, God kills a kitten. I was sold on coming here because some dude told me that this restaurant, which he called a glorified Burger King, is of the same Tony as Tony's. I later realized that this dude was just trying to get in my pants (not either one of the Tonys, just the dude that told me the Tonys were the same guy). If they are the same Tony, then wow, I guess all is normal in my world again and people are not trying to get in my pants. This really is a glorified Burger King in the sense that you order at a counter and sit in really hard chairs while consuming more calories in one sitting than someone should consume in three days. Other than that, no. This place is part of the avalanche of what I call "gourmet comfort food" places, or fancy burger joints. I think I've become desensitized by gourmet comfort food because the toppings here didn't impress or shock me that much. They had some decent choices, but nothing too crazy. It took a long time to decide because it's not just a matter of picking your favorite bread, cheese, or toppings. If you pick your fave cheese, and then realize they have garlic aioli, and that those two don't go together, you must first Sophie's Choice which is more important to you, the aioli or the cheese, and then back to the drawing board on the cheese when you realize your burger must have aioli. They only had a few pre-made selections, and I jumped straight to custom when I saw one of their pre-made burgers featured provel. HATER! After taking way too long to make a decision regarding what I wanted, went for the soda machine, and yes, they have the good kind of ice. Seals the deal? No. But it's like a guy who wears nice shoes. If he cares about his shoes, he probably cares about other important things, too. Yay for the awesome ice. The dining room was meh for me. Lots of kids. Strip mall. The burger was good, and if it sucked it's my own fault because I all but cooked it. It came cooked to temp correctly, which deserves some sort of accolade, because this is the first time I've found a restaurant in STL than can freaking cook a burger the way I want it. The fries were so good that if you didn't finish them you would take them home and eat them cold out of your fridge. Huge portion of fries, which have to be ordered separately. One order is enough for two people, even two people not trying to impress the other person with how small their appetite is. My main recommendation is for them to maybe get a few more WTF toppings. I wanted peanut butter. Also, I think I need to take a pregnancy test. Not because of the aforementioned stuff about being in my pants, but mostly because I'm at a place in my life where I want to Elvis Presley a seven dollar burger.

I came here for the first time after seeing the name on some "Best Burger in St. Louis" lists. I walked in and right up to the counter, no line and it still took the girl about a minute to acknowledge me. She was bagging a delivery order but "I'll be right with you!" Goes a long way. I wasn't impressed with the topping choice, and wasn't going to build my own anyway. I ordered a "slinger" eggs, bacon and chilli on a burger seemed promising cooked medium please. The burger was not at all sloppy, there was scarcely any chilli on it.not to mention it lacked any dimensions of seasoning. Chilli was bland, burger patty was bland and I doubt they even threw salt n pepper on the egg. The hand cut fries would have been nice if they didn't taste like leftover from an earlier drop. Overall, for the price, I was pretty disappointed. They would have to be pretty epic on my second visit to maintain my business.

First time was last night. Went with a friend who is a fan. I was pleasantly surprised. After reading some reviews I expected the atmosphere to be less than it was. It was comfortable and clean. It was rather empty so our experience was good, but with the Build Your Own Burger counter being close to the door I could see the lunch rush being crazy. As I said, my friend is a huge fan. He did the Build Your Own Burger and knew exactly what he wanted. His burger looked good, but had stuff on it I wasn't going to eat. I had looked at the menu on-line before going so I had an idea of what I wanted. I went with the St. Louis burger, yes it has provel, and I love provel, medium, minus the lettuce. The burger was huge. It was cooked to perfection, and not overly greasey. I have to say that the sweet pickle relish on this burger was and odd flavoring. Not bad...just odd. Other than that I was very good. I also ordered the chili cheese fries, because if there is chili cheese fries on the menu, I want them. My friend ordered a half and half order of the garlic fries and onion rings. I got to try them all. To those of you expecting real onion rings...these are not them. These are onion strings, or onions straws. I've had similar onion thingys before and I like them. But I wouldn't call them onion rings. The garlic fries were good. What I found odd, again odd, not bad, was that his fries/onion things cam out on a platter. My chili cheese fries came out in a carton on the side of my burger, with a plastic cup of chili and another of cheese sauce. So it was a build your own chili cheese fry. (And since my food can't touch I then had to remoe my burger from the tray to buidl said chili cheese fries.) It was good though. Overall, I'm willing to give a second shot. The service was good, the location is good. It was very clean. And they have deserts that looked yummy, but after shoving the burger and fries down....who chould eat desert.

GREAT burgers! They let you build your own. Unfortunately, some of the deluxe add-ons that usually come with the burger at other places are extra, like bacon or even onion rings. It racked me up a 10 dollar burger. I didn't check to see if they had it, but for those who know, the original location had the best mac n cheese. If that is gone, I may cry. I do miss Sammy Scott's even if it almost looks the same as Dave and Tony's. Sammy's was my joint.

I popped in to try this place out today. Had to fill out a form to order a burger. Section 1 - bread, section 2 - protein, etc. Finally I get to "sauce". Choose 1, additional sauces $.50. Want a burger with mayo and mustard, you have to pay an extra $.50. Want mayo, mustard and katsup? $1 extra. At that point I left. You shouldn't have to pay for condiments on a burger! Followup: According to Dave below you can get condiments without paying extra. They are not on the "form" so I guess you'd have to write them on. I can see that " chipotle catsup" or "garlic aoili" might be a special sauce, but "house mayo" and "spicy brown mustard" sound like condiments to me. Also a coworker informed me that they have condiment packets. If prying open packets is how you get mustard and mayo o a burger then that's a little cheesy for a $6.50 burger.

Was craving some good old fashion burgers, after reading a couple of reviews this was the spot to try out, and the reviews did not lie. the environment was very relaxing a good place to eat with a couple of friends and enjoy each others company, the food was fast to the table and it was delicious not bad for the price either it was about 9 bucks for burger and fries, and speaking of fries their fries were amazing with plenty to eat and also came in a neat to-go container so if you didnt finish you could pack it up in the container it was served in

After reading the Yelp reviews I thought I should give this place a try! Pros: Build your own burger with lots of great toppings and great cheeses! I got smoked Gouda and it was excellent! The fries are also great! They have pretzel buns, always a plus Cons: Even though I had no trouble with it, the general population seemed to have real issues figuring out how to fill out the build a burger form and the lunch line was slow due to customer confusion (also the woman in front of me took about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to unlock some kind of four square deal - I wanted to rip her hair out....) The staff was friendly and the place was clean - great food over all. My only suggestion would be to make a side area for the BYOB to make room for people that know what they are doing and also needs more topping choices - I was really hoping they would have some outrageous toppings but they played it pretty safe.

I spotted this place a month or so ago while traveling on Olive and today I got the chance to stop in. Service was terrific, staff was friendly, place was very clean. Build your own burger experience was average. We arrived at 11:20, gave our order, filled our cups, sat down and the woman was there with the burgers. Tells you how pre-cooked they are. DH ordered his burger med-well and it was crispy on the outside, pink on the edges and med-well in the middle. It is very hard to cook a burger that way! Mine was ordered medium and the pink level was just fine but the burger was cold in the middle. Fries were good even if a tad greasy and warm but not hot. However hand cut is always a plus. The taste of the burger was ok. There are other places where I like the flavor of the burger better but DH liked his burger so 1/2 of us were pleased with the taste. If I went back I would try a salad and let DH have his burger. The price was a little high for what I think we got. $24.00 for two burgers, two drinks and two fries. Had the burgers come out fresh cooked and the fries fresh cooked the price might have been worth it.

Went for lunch a little after noon and tried an actual burger this time on a rye bun. One co-worker got the Chicken & Mozzarella and another got the Steakhouse Burger. We all got fries. My co-workers really enjoyed their meals and I was on the fence about mine. The burger itself tasted good and cooked medium which I liked. I didn't care so much for the rye bun as it had too much of a caraway or dill flavor in it than I can stand. Didn't care for the steak sauce too much either, probably because I was expecting it to be like A1 and it was actually more of a thicker reddish sauce like sweet, tangy ketchup. I got a side of their cheese sauce to go with my fries and gave it to a co-worker after just a few seconds. It was very watery (seriously? cheese isn't something you should be able to drink) and simply didn't taste good. The service was quick and consistent with the first time I visited. Overall an okay experience for a quick lunch. I wasn't quite as impressed as last time, probably because I've gotten over the hype of this place being newly opened. I would probably eat here again, but I'll give it some time before I decide to come back.

As you walk in, you are immediately greeted by smiling faces and hunger provoking smells. The burgers are made to order and are well worth the $7 you'll spend on one. I strongly recommend stopping by this place if you're looking for a quick and satisfying lunch that makes you proud to be an American.

Great burger! Cooked perfectly medium. Fast service. Good portions for the money. Some people might compare to Five Guys but this is better meat and less greasy. great variety of toppings. And excellent fries too! Dined on 11/26/12

This burger joint is perfect for lunch. The food is always prepared quickly and correctly. The burgers and fries are tasty, and lettuce wraps are available for those of us who can't or don't eat bread. Also, the staff is very friendly and pleasant. One of my favorite lunch spots in the area.

I had a custom burger (you fill out a sheet choosing your toppings, sort of like a sushi bar) and chili cheese fries. The food came out really fast, and overall I'm pretty happy with it. It compares well with the other premium burger shops in the area, though they're a little crazy generous with their portion sizes here. I'm stuffed!

I went for lunch early last week. The food was excellent and better than expected. I was disappointed I did not order the homemade chips. One of the workers recommended them after I had half my fries gone. I wish they would have them higher up in the menu. I would have liked to see more "ready made" options. I liked the build your own option, but I had a hard time deciding what to get with a limited time to order and eat. However, it would not have mattered because the service was great! I was shocked how quick my food was brought out. I'd would go here again if it was closer to my house/work.

My husband and I chose this as our "cheaper" dinner date option last Thursday night (March 1st). For some reason, I was not expecting the fast-foody feel of the place--cold and stark. We filled out our "build your own" forms and turned them in to the waiting cashier, a cheerful young man who did not have much to do at 6 pm on a weekday night. The restaurant had about seven other people in it. After filling our drinks, we took a booth near the back corner to avoid the televisions on the wall. Thinking we had at least ten minutes or so to kill, my husband had scarcely disappeared into the bathroom before the cashier came out with our burgers. My mind instantly flew to Jonathan D.'s review--these burgers were coming out way too fast. Was this a bad sign? I also had to remind the waiter about our fries. When my husband returned, we dug in. Yes--it was a bad sign. Although the meat was cooked appropriately and was not overly dry or distasteful, it was all but cold. My husband and I agreed that these burgers must have been waiting around to be re-heated for the next customers in through the door. I eat low-carb, so I had ordered mine in a lettuce wrap, with sharp cheddar spread, jalapenos, pickles, tomatoes, chipotle ketchup, and caramelized onions. The chipotle ketchup was a mistake--too ketchupy and not enough chipotle, it drowned the onions past recognition and contributed to the cold, wet feel of the burger, as did the lettuce wrap. The jalapenos and pickles were a minor consolation, but the "sharp" cheddar spread was grainy and almost tasteless, and it too reacted badly to the wetness of the ketchup (and the lukewarm meat) by curdling into gloppy balls instead of melting into yummy gooeyness. My husband chose the pretzel bun and simply thought it was not very good quality. The fries, at least, were freshly made and tasty--i snagged a few but my husband ate the majority. Unlike others, we did not find the portions particularly large--but I'm a 5'11" pregnant weight-lifting twenty-nine year-old, so few people I know have my appetite. We ended up stopping at the nearby Schnucks for some trail mix, since I was still hungry! It was a very disappointing experience. I think if one were to eat here during a busy time when the employees were forced to prepare fresh burgers for the waves of people surging through the doors, that person would have a better chance of a good experience. As it was, my husband and I happened to come during a down-time and experienced the full force of the staff's laziness (or the owners' foolishness). Freshly cooked burgers make all the difference, and this we did not get. I actually gazed at the Burger King across the street with regret, something I never thought I'd be able to say! We will not be coming back.

Before Dave & Tony's was a burger joint it was a gourmet sandwich joint owned by the same guys, Dave & Tony (duh). I only ever went there once, and I made the mistake of ordering a sandwich that didn't have any meat on it. I think the name or its description must have somehow implied that it was Italian, and Italian sandwiches - like the BMT at Subway, or the Vito at Jimmy John's, or the Gaba Gool from the Pork Store on The Sopranos - are of course known for having the most meat of any kind of sandwich. That's part of the reason why I eat them. (The other reason is that they're delicious.) The sandwich I had was one of the better sandwiches I've ever eaten, but still. This may have played a role in Dave & Tony's gourmet sandwich predecessor ultimately going out of business. It'd be a lot more difficult to accidentally order a sandwich without meat on it from Dave & Tony's. I'm not even sure if they offer any burgers without meat. I think I did once read somewhere that they sell a turkey sandwich, for women with gigantic asses trying to front like they're going on a diet. But there's no way I'd ever accidentally order it, thinking it was a turkey burger, because of course I would never eat a turkey burger. Take a look around. This is America. The way Dave & Tony's works is you get in line and pick up a sort of checklist order form and one of those tiny pencils you use to bet on horses. You go down the list and check off all the things you want on your burger and how you'd like it prepared. Some of the things cost a little bit extra, but that's not a big deal, because you expect to pay upwards of $10 for a burger and fries at a place like this. You pay that much for a burger and fries at Five Guys, and Five Guys sucks balls. Yeah, I imagine this could get to be a bit much, if you've got a family to put food on, but maybe that's something you should have thought about before you had a family. It's too late to turn back now and not have it be frowned upon by society. I've ordered from both the checklist menu and the list of Signature burgers they offer. The first time I went there, I got some combination of blue cheese, red onions, lettuce and maybe a few other things (but not too many) on a pretzel bun, and the shit was amazing. The pretzel bun in particular is to slap your mother for. I would have gotten the same thing the other day, or something similar (because I can't even remember exactly what it was), but I couldn't see for shit. I'd just come from a retina specialist, where I'd had both my pupils dilated, and I'm already blind out of one eye. (Yeah, I drove like that. #priorities) It was the most I could do to order something from the relatively large list of Signature burgers. I never could quite read the sides menu, so I just ordered french fries and hoped they only come in one size. I think they do. The guy taking my order probably thought I can't read. I went with the Steakhouse Burger, which is not unlike those godawful steakhouse burgers they used to have at Burger King, but without any mashed potatoes. Toppings included crispy onion strips, lettuce and blue cheese. It wasn't altogether different from what I had before, but it didn't come on that delicious pretzel bun, which must cost $.06 more to make. Next time I might see if I can't substitute it. The meat was amazing both times I was there. I was surprised, because it didn't take very long to make, which leads me to believe it's somehow precooked. But you could hardly tell from eating it. The inside was nice and juicy, and not overdone. I ordered mine medium. I love nothing more than the taste of almost raw beef, but I didn't want to take any chances. Maybe next time I will. The fries are almost equally as great. Almost, because they're not made out of meat, natch. They come served in some fou fou tall white cardboard container, which is probably what MIA eats her fries out of, but as far as I know there's no truffle oil or anything involved - just grease and salt. You can tell they're made more or less fresh, but don't worry. They're not those gross natural cut fries that almost taste like they're good for you. These taste like they're horrible for you.

Went at lunch time on a Monday. They have menu sheets to fill out to design your own burger which is great and speeds up the ordering process or a menu board to order off of as well. My hamburger was great. I ordered a side of onion rings. They are the small stringy kind but a lot of it for 1.95. I had to eat in my car because it was too crowded at lunch. They need to add a trash can so people can bus their own tables rather than have people wait for a table to get picked up. Perhaps the owners ought to consider a L-shaped counter along the windows in the NE corner to increase table space and keep people from hogging a table for four with only one person. I will definitely go back when in town, but only if it's not crowded. Service was fast.

Okay. We've known about this place for a while now, but never really thought about trying it till we decided we didn't want to make the drive to Chesterfield just for Smashburger. So you go to a little bar area and fill out your wants for the burger. Or salad if you're so inclined. Choose a bun. Choose a cheese. Choose a cooking preference. Choose a sauce and other fixings. I want to stop here and say that Medium Rare is not Medium. Just to make that clear. I had a pretty decent burger up until I got to the middle. Now I've had medium rare before, but if I'm seeing medium rare, there might be an issue with the consistency of cooking. Not to mention the burgers came out pretty quick for both being cooked medium. I confirmed with my husband that his came out medium rare as well, even though he too asked for medium. Oh well. I just ate around the more rare part and left it at that. It was not worth arguing over. The husband got chili cheese fries while I opted for onion rings. Um, guys? Onion. Rings. Not onion haystacks. Yeah. Not to mention they were so greasy and it's been almost 4 hours since I ate there and my stomach is still roiling from the grease off of the little bit I ate. I asked for the chili cheese fries instead, even opted to pay the difference, but the manager was nice enough to just substitute, so kudos for that. But I will not be getting the psudeo onion rings again. Let me know when you make real ones, okay? All in all, decent place. Pretzel bun was good. I think next time we'll just go to Cheeburger or Smashburger. If I could give 2.5 stars I would.

Dave & Tony's makes a really good hamburger. It's hard to go wrong with the ability to customize your toppings. With a burger and fries, you won't go away hungry! Everyone we've taken there has loved it.

This is the worst burger joint our family has ever been to. The meat was very greacy and it looked like 70/30. We wish we would've gone to Five Guys instead. Its a good thing we added as many toppings as possible to cover the taste. Don't GO there
(1)Carl K.
The best burger in West County. Everything here is fresh. They even make their buns from scratch. This is not your typical microwave reheat pre packaged business. They let you build your burger, and it's cooked to order. I had the onion rings, and they were awesome. Yes, they too we're made from scratch. Plus they were priced right. I will definitely be back! 5 stars

I don't like chain burger joints. I don't like watching someone cut a hamburger patty from a tube. What I do like is customising my burger the way I want it. If it takes filling out a form, so be it. They're willing to work with you on customizing your burger to how you want it. There is a (chain) place that's across the freeway that's pretty popular, but when I went in there it looks just like any other burger joint I didn't like feeling greasy when I left the place. With D and T's, the place is always clean and the staff is always ensuring that you are happy with what you received. BTW, the pretzel bun is the stuff. I'll have to see if they can do that with a hot dog. Great Job Guys!!!

*YUMMMMMY* A friend recommended this place to me, last Saturday. She made it sound sooo good - we tried it on Sunday!! I am NOT a huge burger fan - but this place may turn me! Their food was AMAZING. The burger was cooked perfectly and love all the toppings they offer! The Onion Rings are deeelicious...they are those real thin onions "onion straws" at a lot of restaurants and have a GREAT flavor! The prices are a little steep, but so are the prices at '5 Guys' and this place is MUCH better!!! We have definitely put them on the "return to" list!!

Create your own burger place. They have a lot of options and my burger was delicious! I'd go there again.

I was enjoying a gourmet fast-food burger high when I visited Dave & Tony's for the first time. I had recently visited the newly opened Smashburger three times in one month (that's a new record for me!) and wanted to test out the competition. On paper, these two establishments are pretty similar- they both serve made-to-order burgers with gourmet buns and toppings, herbed french fries, and micro brews in a fast-food setting. Yet the glaring difference is in the satisfaction I received from biting in to the two burgers- Smashburger is perfectly crisp & caramelized on the outside and juicy on the inside, while Dave & Tony's was dry, overdone, and sandwiched between a pretzel bun that was way too thick. The herbed parmesan fries at Dave & Tony's also paled in comparison to the deliciously crispy and well-seasoned smashfries at Smashburger. I know I sound extremely biased, and I am, but this place just didn't cut it for me. Sorry, guys!

Went there for the first time today. The service was quick and the burger was AWESOME! I had Dave's Turkey Burger and it was the BEST. I would HIGHLY reccommend Dave & Tony's!
